Frequently asked questions

Plain answers about our Singapore commercial legal advisory practice — engagement model, fees, intake and what we do not do.

Is LawSpark a coffee brand (like BrewSpark), a life-coaching / wellness brand, a DIY template SaaS, or does it guarantee ironclad contracts and zero disputes?

No. LawSpark Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore commercial legal advisory practice. "Spark" means the clarity moment when a noisy commercial problem becomes a clear next step — not coffee, not fireworks, not lifestyle coaching. We do not sell café hospitality, do not offer life coaching, and do not operate as a template SaaS without counsel. We do not guarantee dispute-free business or specific commercial outcomes. Formal legal advice follows a conflict check and written engagement letter. The .life TLD is branding only.

What is the difference between a matter fee and a retainer?

A matter fee covers defined legal services for a specific client matter — for example contract review, a founder agreement draft or a compliance briefing — with scope and fees estimate set out in an engagement letter. Retainer counsel provides a pool of advisory hours each month for ongoing contract review, employment law questions and governance support. Both require conflict checks; neither guarantees negotiation outcomes.

What are typical fees in SGD?

Indicative ranges: clarity session and short advisory opinions from S$900; contract review matters S$2,200–S$12,000; founder agreements S$3,500–S$15,000; advisory retainers from S$2,800/month. All figures are estimates subject to scope, complexity and conflict check results — quoted in writing before work begins.

How does intake and timeline work?

Contact us with a short description of your Singapore business issue. We conduct a conflict check, usually within two business days for standard enquiries. If we can act, we send an engagement letter with matter scope, fees estimate and instructions for document transfer. Timelines depend on matter complexity — we will not promise instant dispute resolution.

When is website information legal advice?

Never, by itself. Content on lawspark.life is general information about our legal services and approach. It does not create a solicitor-client relationship. Formal legal advice requires a conflict check, your instructions and a signed engagement letter.

How do you handle client documents?

Documents are transferred through agreed secure channels, stored under PDPA-aware access controls, and used only for the engaged client matter. Retention follows our Privacy Policy and engagement terms. We do not train AI models on client data.

What do you not do?

We do not guarantee wins or recoveries, do not act as a marketing agency, do not sell AI-income courses, do not provide coffee or wellness hospitality, do not operate as a visa mill, and do not accept instructions that ask us to misrepresent facts. We are a law practice focused on commercial counsel for Singapore businesses.

Do you handle litigation?

Our focus is advisory, drafting and negotiation support. Where litigation or specialist IP is required, we advise on strategy and refer appropriate counsel — always with client consent and clear scope boundaries.
